Easter Holiday Childcare
As you will already be aware, we are staying open for children of key workers only (who are NOT able to look after their children at home) up to and including Thursday 9th April 2020.
NO schools are required to be open on Good Friday (10th April) or Easter Monday (13th April). (However if both parents are NHS workers and are called in to undertake additional shifts due to increased demand – PLEASE contact the school mobile to arrange support. Ideally we need 48hrs notice of this need)
We have consulted our parents and families as we propose to be closed to ALL children from Tuesday 14th April through to Friday 17th April.
If you are in a position where you URGENTLY require childcare from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th, please contact me on the SCHOOL MOBILE on 07874 690551 to discuss this further.
Welcome to Dereham Church of England Junior Academy!
‘Jesus came to give life, better than we ever dreamed of’
Welcome to our website where you can find out more about our school and the community we serve. As one of the largest schools within the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust, we have just over 400 children on roll aged 7-11 (Year 3 through to Year 6) across 16 classes. We predominantly serve the community of Dereham, a market town in the heart of Norfolk. Our children generally transition from 3 main feeder Infant Schools although we also have a number of children attending from several surrounding villages.
We are exceptionally proud of our school and are determined to make a positive difference to the lives of our pupils in order for them to flourish emotionally, socially and academically; leaving us with the knowledge, skills and attributes to have a life ‘better than they ever dreamed of’.
Through an engaging and inspiring curriculum, delivered and led by staff who feel valued, supported and challenged to be the best they can be, we will offer an education of the highest quality. An education which promotes ambition and resilience for our learners, a love of learning and one which supports our children to make excellent progress from their starting points. We are a school which recognises successes beyond the academic and place the mental and emotional health of pupils, families and staff at the forefront of our work.
Although we are a large school, we really know our children and value each and every individual in our care. We are outward facing and ambitious for all, regularly reviewing our practice and provision to ensure it best meets the needs of our learners.
To find out more about us, please contact the school office who will happily arrange for you to come and visit.
