We are a 7-11 junior school within the Diocese of Norwich Education Academy Trust (DNEAT) that serves the local Dereham neighbourhood and seeks to serve the local community by continuing to raise standards in a caring way. Our purpose built school houses 16 classrooms as well as large playgrounds and field. In addition to the classrooms and large school hall, we have a number of specialist teaching areas that are used for small group work and interventions.
The school has around 450 pupils with four classes in each year group.
The school is committed to equipping the children with the skills that they need for the 21st century and has invested in class sets of LearnPads as well as laptops and a dedicated ICT suite. We have a multi-use hall which caters for assemblies and collective worship, lunch, P.E., drama/music productions and out of school activities (e.g. breakfast club). Outside, the school has a large playground, animal enclosure, field with games pitches and a quiet area. We constantly strive to improve the internal and external learning environment through a rolling programme of decoration and repair.
Resourcing the school to meet current and future needs is a high priority for us as we work within DNEAT in our successful drive to raise standards and to meet the changing demands of the curriculum.
We have high expectations of the children for their academic standards and for their good behaviour. The school supports all its pupils to achieve their personal best and we want them to be proud of their achievements.
It is my pleasure to work with the school and I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you better while I am with the school as Interim Headteacher.
