At Dereham Junior Academy, we follow a cursive handwriting style and use Letterjoin as a scheme to follow.

We have discrete handwriting lessons in each year group, where we look at and rehearse letter formation and joins, and then aim to transfer these skills into all our writing. In these sessions, we use handwriting lines to help us learn how and where to form our letters. In Years 3 and 4, most children also use a writing book with handwriting lines to help further secure these skills.
